maestro, David Lynch.
According to me, it’s one of those obligatory
appointments - like the Festival of Hyères and the Salone del Mobile - to which
I’ll succeed in going sooner or later.
Let’s console ourselves with the flood of photos
at press’ disposal and with a concentration effort to imagine ourselves there,
at Grand Palais, from the 15th to the 18th November, for an edition that looks
to go down in the annals.
The reasons are many but, before talking about the
increasing number of the exhibitors – 128 galleries and 23 publishers - and the exhibitions, the meetings and the
debates, we can’t pretend nothing happened and pass over that describes PP 2012 as unique.
Take a cult personality who lives on images,
overwhelm him with the photos on display and make him choose his favorite ones.
You’ll have an alternative viewpoint and
especially a key to penetrate an inner, many-sided and fascinating world.
The venture - translated
into an app and a volume published by Steidl - is called Paris Photo Vu Par…. and
what makes it brilliant is the choice of the figure or rather the man of the
lost highways and magic boxes, the man of the twin peaks and vermilion
curtains, the man of the Silencio!, the master, David Lynch.
The David’s selection includes deformity, strange
boiling fluids, crumbling houses; if he had opted for something else I’d have
worried.

all’Institut Néerlandais o Deborah Turbeville alla Galerie Serge Aboukrat).
totalmente diverso: Paris Photo Los Angeles.
Adesso
non resta altro che immergersi…
Add then the
conjunction with the Mois de la Photo (among the most interesting events
Jean-Baptiste Huynh at Louvre, Gustave Le Gray at Petit Palais, Manuel Alvarez
Bravo at Jeu de Paume, Charlotte Dumas at Institut Néerlandais or Deborah
Turbeville at Galerie Serge Aboukrat).
And you’ll obtain a
result that not even astral coincidences and propitiatory rites could have
produced.
In conclusion, from the
25th to the 28th April Paris Photo
is gonna migrate to Paramount Pictures Studios in Los Angeles to give life to a
completely different fair: Paris Photo
Los Angeles.
And
now submerge yourself…..
