ElectroMode: NEW YORK FASHION WEEK 1

New York Fashion Week sottotono. Anche se naturalmente poco incline a estrosità varie e fortemente guidata dal marketing, la settimana della moda newyorkese è apparsa opaca, ovviamente con alcune eccezioni, che poi sono sempre le stesse ovvero Marc Jacobs in primis, Alexander Wang e Proenza Schouler.

Punto interrogativo lo show di Rodarte, anche suggestivo ma poco Rodarte e più un mix di McQueen, Balenciaga e Katrantzou.

Eleganti ma senza discostarsi di un millimetro dal solco della loro tradizione Ralph Lauren, Calvin Klein, Donna Karan e Diane Von Furstenberg.

Molto interessante ma non del tutto convincente Altuzarra.

Piacevoli Tommy Hilfiger, Tory Burch, Thakoon, Vivienne Tam, Helmut Lang, Marc e Lacoste.

Oggi la prima parte con un focus su Marc Jacobs e Alexander Wang.
Nella seconda parte focus su Proenza Schouler e brevi sintesi di tutti gli altri o almeno di una parte di essi.

The New York Fashion Week has appeared opaque, obviously with some exceptions: Marc Jacobs, Alexander Wang and Proenza Schouler. The Rodarte show - even so attractive - wasn’t in Rodarte style but instead in a mix among McQueen, Balenciaga and Katrantzou. Ralph Lauren, Calvin Klein, Donna Karan and Diane Von Furstenberg were elegant but without departing from their tradition. Altuzarra was very interesting but not completely convincing. Nice Tommy Hilfiger, Tory Burch, Thakoon, Vivienne Tam, Helmut Lang and Lacoste.

in cui spopolò con la sua magrezza, gli occhi bistrati, i capelli corti e decolorati, le t-shirt a righe sulle calze nere.

Edie la superstar warholiana che incantava tutti qualsiasi cosa facesse e che ispirò la celebre Femme Fatale dei Velvet Underground, imperversò per una brevissima stagione costellata di film, copertine, feste e dissipazione in quel mondo a parte che fu la Factory restando per sempre nell’immaginario collettivo.

Marc Jacobs riprende il mood dell’epoca e i tratti distintivi del Sedgwick style distillando una collezione femminile, asciutta e leggiadra, che riesce a essere anche contemporanea e priva di effetto nostalgia tra gonne oltre il ginocchio abbinate a camicie, felpe e giacchine corte,

ALEXANDER WANG

Alexander Wang si conferma uno dei nomi di riferimento della moda internazionale.

Per la p-e 2013 intraprende un percorso di astrazione verso l’essenza dell’abito, che - scomposto e riassemblato - assume le sembianze di un look cartamodello i cui pezzi sono tenuti insieme da fili invisibili e sopraggitti.

Alexander Wang’s established himself as one of reference points of the international fashion world.

Alexander quests for the essence of the dress, that - broken down and reassembled - assumes the form of a paper pattern with pieces linked with invisible threads and whip stitches. Remarkable the python t-shirts, the dresses with panels that seem camouflage patterns, the leather jackets and blousons.

The peak of bravura was reached in the second part of the fashion show: the stitches between the panels vanished magically giving life to a Tron effect, stressed by the final luminescence in the dark.
